Equine Artist Biography:

Lyndsey Warren was born and raised in Avon Connecticut . She discovered two of her passions early on in life, horses and art. Horse was the first word Lyndsey spoke when she was a baby. Ironically, horses were among the first things she began to draw and it has been like that ever since! Equine images danced over the pages of her school notebooks, textbooks, and placemats at restaurants.

In high school she was constantly drawing horses, even when her high school art teacher encouraged her to draw something other than horses. Much to her art teacher's dismay she always managed to slip a horse into a project.

Lyndsey's parents supported her decision in making art into a career when she chose to attend the Hartford Art School. At the Hartford Art School Lyndsey pursued Illustration with a focus on Children's Book and Computer Illustration.

She graduated with her BFA in illustration and went on to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art for her Masters. While she was at MICA she was exposed to painting landscapes in the En Plein Air style as well as sculpture. Up until graduate school her work was extremely realistic. Lyndsey began playing around with paint textures and styles which she explored and practiced with. Today her she prides herself into being able to successfully paint in many styles. Lyndsey is extremely versatile.

Afraid of becoming a "starving" artist Lyndsey chose to become a teacher while she markets herself in fine art. The commercial art field is tough and benefits, healthcare, and job security are scarce. Teaching allows Lyndsey the opportunity to work with kids, and ample time to create her own art and pursue a career as a full time artist. Teaching also gives her the income she needs to be able to afford her two horses, two creatures she simply could not live without! After all, they are her biggest inspiration!
