Equine Photographers Biography:
Rachael is the director of IndianStunts.com, booking all gigs far and wide, location assistance, horse business, and management for film, television, and commercial print work.
Her roster includes: KTLA, NBC, ABC, CBS, TNT, HBO, and various film productions, festivals, and magazine articles. Rachael was also the equine co-stunt coordinator for the independent film Wild West-The Desert film.
Rachael has been a professional photographer for over twenty years. She earned her B.F.A. & M.F.A. (in film) from the world- renowned California Institute of The Arts. Her main focus of study was documentary film (including third and fourth world cinema).
In 2004 Rachael presented her film "No Reservations- The American Indian Cowboy" as her thesis film Rachael traveled to Indian rodeo's in five states capturing these cowboys going for the glory. The film earned her a people's choice award at the Ventura Indian film festival. In 2000 Rachael was also awarded Artist of the year By The Santa Barbara Native Arts Festival O.U.R.S.
Rachael's award winning photography has a very organic approach. From ranch life to Indian cowboys, stunts, and private clientele she strives to capture the moments in between thoughts, the moments that are pure and untainted.
Rachael has over fifteen years in the entertainment and literary fields. Her expertise includes: film production, coordinating music and art festivals, to consulting for film and television companies. She started her photography career shooting 80's hair bands which led her to photograph celebrities in other fields, reservation life, Indian cowboys, stunts, horses, and landscapes.
Rachael's passion for ranch and landscape photography started in 1994 upon a spontaneous move from NYC to the mountains of West Texas. It is there on her ranch that she found the ability to breath and focus.
Rachael has over thirty years of experience with animals. She was a board member with the Alpine Human Society of Texas in the early nineties educating people and finding homes for hundreds of tossed away stray's. Rachael's Texas ranch was home to many unwanted animals that sometimes had to wait several years until some one adopted them. She also provided food and shelter for abused horses whose owners where awaiting court proceedings as well as a cast of other characters that called her ranch home.
Rachael has worked on film, television, commercial, and theatrical productions in areas of: casting, stunt coordinating, cinematography, development, location, production coordinating, script supervision, photography, packaging, graphic design, and branding of American Indian Stunt players.
Her advertising and design experience brings original art to every mission. She is the Vice-chair of The Santa Barbara Native Arts Guild, where she heads up the advertising and design department.
